Corn escorpioncillo. Its vegetative cycle is intermediate, and fast-flowering, less than 60 days. Their ears semi-cylindrical are of medium size with 10 to 12 rows of kernels (semirectilínea), whose colors range from white and purple, so it is also called the “pinto”. The grain is jagged-flat and of medium size. It is a corn crossed with other varieties, mainly has the intervention of the races Olotillo and Olotón. It is heavy, resistant to pests and diseases, and is adapted to the different types of climates and soils. What is grown primarily in the communities of San Juan del Rio, Agua Zarca, lime and Tixtlancingo of the municipality of Coyúca Benítez, which are located at altitudes no greater than 800 meters above sea level.
