In 2021, we are amplifying the project across the Valley of Mexico. This project is a further step to open new markets lxs productorxs of corn native. Born as a result of our study of the fields of maize, native Tlalpan, where we find that despite the closeness with the CDMX, this is a great market is still out of your reach.
According to the Federal Law on the Protection and Promotion of the Native Corn, entered into force in April, 2020: The native corn is defined as “Races of the category taxonomy Zea mays subspecies mays indigenous peoples, dedicated to the field and the farmer have grown and grown, from seed selected by themselves or obtained through exchange, in evolution and diversification constant.” So, here we identify as native corn is the one that comes from seeds selected and saved by lxs campesinxs.
